She is particularly skilled in supporting executives and emerging leaders navigating professional inflection points, organizational complexity, and transitions into expanded leadership responsibility or transitions into new career roles. Prior to her coaching career, Tamia worked as an associate in intellectual property law and also served in the United States Marine Corps as a Judge Advocate. She went on to hold senior legal and executive leadership roles across the federal government. She served as Chief Administrative Law Judge for three separate federal agencies, leading adjudicatory operations and large teams, advising executive leadership, and overseeing complex legal and operational matters within highly regulated environments. She later served in the Senior Executive Service as Chief Operating Officer at the U.S. Department of Energy, where she led enterprise-wide operational strategy, organizational management, and executive-level initiatives in support of critical national priorities. These experiences continue to shape her leadership philosophy and provide her with a sophisticated understanding of institutional dynamics, executive decision-making, and mission-driven leadership.
Tamia has also held leadership and advisory roles across legal, academic, and organizational settings, bringing a nuanced perspective on workforce development, leadership under pressure, and organizational transformation.
Tamia holds degrees including a Juris Doctor, Master of Business Administration, Master of Science [Inorganic Chemistry], Bachelor of Science [Chemistry], and Associate of Arts [Arabic Linguistics]. She is an Associate Certified Coach (ACC) through the International Coaching Federation (ICF) and completed executive coach training through the Georgetown University Leadership Coaching Program.
